Grammy-winning artists Sean Paul and Shaggy are teaming up to headline a major benefit concert titled “Jamaica Strong” on December 12 at UBS Arena in New York.

The star-studded event aims to raise funds for Hurricane Melissa recovery efforts in Jamaica, where thousands were left without homes, power, or clean water.

The concert will feature top Caribbean performers, including Inner Circle, Ky-Mani Marley, and KES the Band, joining forces to help rebuild communities devastated by the storm. Proceeds will go toward relief initiatives run by Shaggy’s Make A Difference Foundation, Sean Paul’s supported nonprofit Food for the Poor, the Irie Jam Radio Foundation, and the Jamaican Consulate’s aid programs.

Organized in partnership with Jammins Events, Irie Jam Radio, Roadblock Radio, and the Jamaican government, the show is being positioned as a cultural and humanitarian movement.
“This is more than a concert — it’s a movement,” said event producer George Crooks. “Every ticket purchased directly supports rebuilding lives, homes, and hope in Jamaica.”

Tickets go on sale November 14 via Ticketmaster.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Shaggy shared the severity of the situation: “People are homeless. There’s no running water, electricity, or shelter. We gave out water and food, but there are still bodies trapped in homes.”

Shaggy has arranged private planes carrying food, medical supplies, and water to affected areas, while Sean Paul is matching donations to boost the relief push. Despite the devastation, both artists praised Jamaica’s resilience, with Shaggy adding, “One thing about Jamaicans — we’re resilient and united.”
