Friendly Women’s Hockey Series kicks off in Karachi

First match between Abdullah Govt College and School of International Education ended in draw

The Karachi Hockey Association Women’s Wing has launched an exciting series of friendly hockey matches. The opening match was played between Abdullah Government College for Women and the School of International Education. Both teams displayed impressive skills, but the game ended goalless.

The second match of the series will be held in 13th November at 9:00 AM at the Olympian Hanif Khan and Dr. Junaid Ali Shah Sports Complex Gulshan Iqbal.President of the Women’s Wing,Asma Ali Shah, praised the players’ performance and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting girls in hockey. She noted that grassroots efforts in schools and colleges are producing encouraging results, with new talent emerging through these initiatives.

She expressed gratitude to Karachi Hockey Association President Imtiaz Ali Shah and Secretary Olympian Hanif Khan for their trust and support, and also appreciated Haider Hussain’s visionary work at the grassroots level,which has played a vital role in promoting hockey.

She further thanked the Sindh government and MNA Shehla Raza for their consistent support.KHA Women’s Wing Secretary Batool Kazim acknowledged the contributions of Saima Hussain, Coordinator tehmina Fatima,and Ms.Kiran from the School of international  Education.

She also expressed appreciation for Professor Shams Malkani, Principal of Abdullah Government College, for his cooperation, and lauded the efforts of Syed Imtiazul-Hasan, Rashid Ali, Muhammad Faizan, Irfan Tahir, Samina Tabassum, Syed Shahbaz Haider, and ground staff member Ghaus, whose guidance and hard work boosted the morale of the players.
