Diddy’s prison relapse: Mogul reportedly caught drinking alcohol at Fort Dix
Sean “Diddy” reportedly breaks sobriety in prison with homemade alcohol

Sean “Diddy” Combs, the music mogul and entrepreneur, was reportedly caught drinking alcohol while serving his sentence at FCI Fort Dix, according to TMZ.
The incident marks a setback in his journey toward sobriety, which he had emphasized prior to entering prison.
Sources say the alcohol was homemade, created by mixing Fanta, sugar, and apples and allowing the mixture to ferment for at least two weeks before consumption.
Diddy reportedly got into some trouble with prison officials but was not transferred to a new unit. Authorities ultimately decided to keep him in his current lower-security accommodations, reportedly giving him another chance.
Diddy had requested placement at Fort Dix specifically to participate in its Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), which allows eligible inmates to reduce their sentences by up to a year if they remain compliant.
The 53-year-old had previously told Judge Arun Subramanian that he had been sober for the first time in 25 years and had written in a letter about the transformation he hoped to achieve: “The old me died in jail and a new version of me was reborn. Prison will change you or kill you, I choose to live.”
He has been incarcerated for just over a week, checking in on the eve of Halloween, with a projected release date of May 8, 2028.
While relapses are not uncommon for individuals with a history of substance abuse, this incident may affect perceptions of his rehabilitation and could have implications for early release opportunities.
Diddy’s brief misstep underscores the challenges of maintaining sobriety, even in a controlled environment, and serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle many face with addiction.
