Dengue reaches G-B: First case reported in Gilgit

Another patient was placed under observation awaiting test results.

GILGIT:


The first case of dengue fever in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) was confirmed at a hospital in Gilgit on Wednesday, while another patient was placed under observation awaiting test results, health officials said.


“Yes, the man is a confirmed patient of dengue fever. He has reached Gilgit from Lahore,” Director of health Services Dr Ghulam Ali said about the patient who is an official of Pakistan Rangers and is posted in Gilgit.

An official in the district headquarter hospital (DHQ), where the patient is under treatment, said he belonged to Lahore and was on leave when he contracted dengue in Lahore.
