Safety Measures: Flood protection spurs built in Kurram
Two flood protection spurs measuring 121 metres each will protect 1,000 acres of agricultural land.

The political administration of Kurram Agency has completed construction of two flood protection spurs for the communities of Banichot, Ghat Durrani and Warokai Durrani in the Durrani area and Qamar Kali, Dagaree Kali and Haji Nawab Kali in the Kuchi area of Lower Kurram Agency. According to a press release issued by the Fata Directorate of Information on Wednesday, the political administration constructed two flood protection spurs measuring 121 metres each, which will benefit 1,400 individuals and protect 1,000 acres of agricultural land. The local community took active part in the construction of the spurs, which resulted in timely and quality completion of the project. In addition to that, local labour was also hired from the community to ensure a sense of ownership among the people.
