KAGHAN:

Following the recent snowfall, a large number of tourists have started arriving in Kaghan Valley to witness its breathtaking natural beauty.

The snow-covered landscape has enhanced the charm of the valley, attracting visitors from various parts of the country. The Mansehra district administration, Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) and district police have issued precautionary guidelines for tourists and local residents to ensure safety during travel. According to a spokesperson for the KDA, the roads in the valley become slippery at night due to frost, especially in areas where water accumulates or where the road remains shaded. He advised travellers to drive cautiously and avoid speeding, as such conditions increase the risk of skidding.

The administration has also urged tourists to check the latest weather updates before travelling to Kaghan Valley. It has also recommended the use of four-wheel drive vehicles for better traction on slippery roads. Tourists have been advised to carry warm clothing, blankets, suitable footwear and dry fruits to stay prepared for any emergency situation. In case of any untoward incident or emergency, travellers are advised to immediately contact the helpline 1422 or reach out to the district administration, district police KDA's emergency helplines.

The spokesperson further stated that the KDA is actively working to facilitate and guide tourists during the winter season. Staff have been deployed at key entry and exit points of the valley, while machinery remains operational to clear snow and ensure smooth traffic flow. He added that the KDA appeals to all visitors to prioritise their safety and that of others while enjoying the scenic beauty of the valley and to strictly follow all official advisories to prevent any accidents or mishaps.
