BISE left adrift sans chairman
Board has been without chief for three weeks, halting salaries and exam operations

The Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) has been functioning without a chairman for the past three weeks, leaving its financial and administrative affairs in limbo. Former Chairman Adnan Khan completed his three-year tenure and relinquished charge on October 17, but the key position has remained vacant since then.
As a result, salary disbursements, payments, and other official matters have been stalled. The situation has become particularly critical as admissions for the 2026 annual matriculation examinations are currently underway, and the absence of a chairman is causing administrative bottlenecks.
The Employees Welfare Association of the BISE Rawalpindi held an emergency meeting chaired by Chaudhry Imran Younas Gujjar, where General Secretary Chaudhry Muaf Ali Mubarak highlighted the adverse impact of the vacancy. He noted that essential payments, administrative directives, and public dealings related to the ongoing Intermediate Second Annual Examination 2025 have been disrupted, affecting the board's overall performance.
The association urged the Punjab government and the Education Department in Lahore to immediately appoint a new chairman to restore the board's operations.
