VC Appointments: Chancellor’s lawyer gets a week

LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday allowed the Punjab governor’s counsel a week to make representation with regard to proceedings of intra court appeals (ICAs) against dismissal of writ petitions by a single bench pertaining to appointment of vice chancellors to six varsities. Advocate Azam Nazir Tarar filed his letter of attorney on behalf of the chancellor and requested the court give him time to file a reply to the appeals. The chief justice adjourned the hearing till September 28 and directed the counsel to ensure submission of the reply on the next hearing.
