HYDERABAD:
Relatives of Dr Mehr Ali Tunio, a resident of Naushahro Feroze who was allegedly killed in a fake police encounter in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal area, staged a protest outside the Hyderabad Press Club on Friday.
They alleged that Dr Mehr Ali had withdrawn Rs1.5 million from a bank to purchase medicines and equipment when police stopped him during a routine check. The protesters claimed that the officers, tempted by the money, falsely branded him a robber and killed him in a staged encounter.
