Volunteers feed Afghans stranded at border

With the continued closure of the Torkham border, local philanthropists and volunteers have launched a food distribution drive to support Afghan nationals stranded in Landi Kotal's Jamia Masjid.

Senior customs clearing agent and social activist Qari Nazim Gul Shinwari, journalist Shahid Shinwari, and several volunteers distributed cooked rice and other meals among the Afghan citizens who have been unable to cross back into their country.

The stranded Afghans expressed deep gratitude to the people of Pakistan for their generosity and hospitality, saying that they had been provided with meals and shelter despite the hardships caused by the border shutdown. They called upon both Pakistani and Afghan authorities to reopen the Torkham crossing at the earliest so they could return to their homes safely and resume normal life.

Local social organizations also appealed to the government to take immediate humanitarian measures to facilitate the safe return of the stranded individuals, emphasizing that the closure has created serious difficulties for families, women, and children awaiting passage on both sides of the border.
