Mahira responds to Botox and facelift rumours
Actress clarifies 'snatched look' was makeup experiment gone wrong

Actor Mahira Khan has set the record straight after social media erupted with speculation that she had undergone cosmetic procedures. The chatter began when her latest photos from a 'Neelofar' promotional event in Lahore went viral, showing what many fans described as a "drastic change" in her facial features.
Online users claimed that the actress, known for her natural grace, had opted for Botox, lip fillers, or an eyebrow lift. Comments flooded X and Instagram, with some users comparing her look to celebrities known for cosmetic enhancements. Others defended her, insisting she had always championed natural beauty and authenticity.
Amid the heated debate, Mahira finally addressed the rumours with humour. In an Instagram story, she joked about her so-called 'eyebrow lift', demonstrating her natural ability to raise her brows. Later, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify that the change was the result of a makeup experiment gone wrong.
"Why would I do a facelift right now?" she wrote. "My makeup artist did some hair-lift things to give a 'snatched look' — in two parts. And it wasn't done right. Lesson learnt. Moving on."
Her candid explanation quickly went viral, earning her praise for handling the situation with grace and wit. One user even apologised for earlier remarks, and Mahira responded warmly, saying, "Noo don't be silly."
The actress, who has an 11.7 million-strong Instagram following, is currently busy promoting her upcoming film 'Neelofar' alongside Fawad Khan. The project reunites the celebrated on-screen pair from Humsafar, reigniting fan excitement ahead of its release.
Mahira's response appears to have put an end to the swirling rumours, but the debate reflects a broader conversation about beauty standards and online scrutiny of celebrities in Pakistan's entertainment industry — where even a makeup mishap can spark nationwide speculation.
