Kristen Bell allegedly stands firm about her "tone deaf" anniversary post celebrating 12 years of marriage to her husband, Dax Shepard.
Bell and Shepard got married in 2013, and share daughters, Lincoln and Delta. The actress faced intense backlash after posting a controversial caption on Instagram to commemorate the anniversary writing, "Happy 12th wedding anniversary to the man who once said to me, 'I would never kill you. A lot of men have killed their wives at a certain point. Even though I'm heavily incentivised to kill you, I never would'".
Bell attracted a lot of ire for her caption, especially since her post was published during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The actress was accused of trivialising abuse through the post, as her followers called her out in the comments section.
According to reports, however, the 45-year-old is doubling down on her remarks and does not intend to take the post down from her Instagram feed. Speaking to The Mail, a source reported that Bell believes there are "bigger problems in the world" than her post.
"Many would have liked her to apologize or to have taken down the post, but she hasn't and the post is still there," they said. "She doesn't want to be told how to live her life or be bullied into doing something she doesn't want to do."
Amid the scandal ,the actress skipped out an episode of the Today Show alongside Nobody Wants This co-star, Justine Lupe who attended the morning show alone. Bell did however, show up on the red carpet to promote the second season of the show, which was released on Netflix on October 23.
