Measles-Rubella vaccination plan devised

The Rawalpindi DHA has finalised health teams and targets for the upcoming Measles-Rubella vaccination campaign, which will focus primarily on rural areas. The campaign will begin on November 17 and continue for 12 days.
Children aged six months to five years will be vaccinated during the drive aimed at protecting them from these fast-spreading diseases. The target across the district is 822,766 children, with the highest number - 189,087 - in Rawalpindi Rural area.
The city area will require the largest number of teams to ensure complete coverage. A total of 703 teams have been formed - 217 permanent teams will remain stationed at designated health centres and temporary sites where parents can bring their children for vaccination. Their target is 86,400 children.
Additionally, 486 outreach teams will visit homes, schools, and remote areas to vaccinate children, targeting 736,366 in total.
The campaign involves 2,797 trained personnel.
