Senate panel irked over delay in lodges project
.

The Senate Sub-Committee on Parliamentary Lodges, on Friday, expressed dissatisfaction over the delay in the completion of the model apartment, despite clear directives issued during its previous meeting held on October 15, 2025.
Chaired by Senator Nasir Mehmood, the committee visited the site of the new Parliamentary Lodges to inspect the model apartment, the design for which had been shared earlier by the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
During the inspection, members identified several deficiencies in both the design and quality of the partially completed unit. The CDA officials and the contractor were instructed to rectify these issues and ensure completion of the model apartment by October 30, 2025, strictly in accordance with the approved design.
The sub-committee also scheduled its next meeting for the same date to review on-site progress.
Emphasising the importance of maintaining construction standards, the Senate body directed that the new lodges project must be completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The committee further instructed that the CDA Chairman personally attend the next meeting.
