Travis Kelce joins Six Flags investor group as theme-park operator plans major revamp
“The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up", Kelce stated

NFL star Travis Kelce has made a significant move beyond football, joining a group of activist investors that now holds about a 9% stake in Six Flags Entertainment Corporation.
The deal unites Kelce with JANA Partners and other executives in a bid to revitalise the iconic amusement park chain.
Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, said he is “a lifelong Six Flags fan” who “grew up going to these parks with my family and friends.” He added, “The chance to help make Six Flags special for the next generation is one I couldn’t pass up.”
The investment carries both business and personal meaning for Kelce. It links his childhood memories and current hometown — Kansas City — with a broader effort to reshape the company’s future.
The group’s strategy focuses on improving operations, guest experience and marketing, while strengthening Six Flags’ long-term performance.
Six Flags has faced recent challenges, including a net loss of about $319 million in the first half of 2025 and a 9% decline in attendance during the June quarter.
However, following news of the investment, shares surged nearly 18% in regular trading and gained a further 4.5% after hours, reflecting renewed investor confidence.
JANA Partners managing partner Scott Ostfeld outlined plans to engage with Six Flags’ board to modernise operations and enhance customer satisfaction.
