Zardari, Shehbaz felicitate Japan's first female PM

ISLAMABAD:

. President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday extended felicitations to Sanae Takaichi on her historic election as the first female PM of Japan.

In a statement issued from the Presidency, Zardari said Sanae election marks a significant milestone in Japan's political history.

He noted that while Japan made history by electing its first woman PM, Pakistan had proudly chosen one of its finest daughters, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, as the first female premier of the Muslim world.

Separately, in a message on X, PM Shehbaz stated he "looked forward to working closely with Prime Minister Takaichi.
