Keith Urban forgets lyrics during tour finale amid Maggie Baugh rumours and Nicole Kidman Divorce

Keith Urban closed his High and Alive Tour on a reflective note after forgetting the lyrics to his hit “The Fighter” during his final show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Friday, while also addressing fan speculation over his performances.

The 57-year-old singer was performing his 2016 duet with Carrie Underwood when he lost his place mid-song.

Performing alongside Natalie Stovall, Urban smiled and said, “‘Cause you’re beautiful... and I’ve forgotten my own words to my song,” as seen in a TikTok video shared by a fan. Stovall continued the number with ease as the crowd cheered.

The moment came weeks after Urban temporarily removed “The Fighter” from his setlist following rumours linked to his onstage chemistry with guitarist Maggie Baugh.

During a September 25 Chicago show, Urban altered the lyric, singing, “When they’re tryna get to you, Maggie, I’ll be your guitar player,” instead of the original “baby, I’ll be your fighter.” The change gained attention after his separation from Nicole Kidman, who inspired the song.

Urban has since grown weary of speculation surrounding his lyric changes, telling the Nashville audience, “I’ve been covering like this for a long time. Stop reading s*** into it.” Fans had previously claimed his emotional performances hinted at his split from Kidman, 58, who filed for divorce on September 29 citing “irreconcilable differences.”
