Govt to host regional connectivity meeting

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Establishment Division Ahad Cheema chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to review strategies for enhancing regional trade through improved connectivity and stronger trade corridors.

According to an official statement, the meeting also finalised preparations for the upcoming Regional Connectivity Conference, set to take place in Islamabad later this week.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr Tauqeer Shah, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, and senior officials from relevant ministries. Officials briefed the participants on initiatives aimed at strengthening trade corridors and upgrading infrastructure to facilitate smoother regional trade.

Speaking on the occasion, Cheema said Pakistan is committed to advancing regional connectivity through rail and road networks. He expressed optimism that the conference would lead to the signing of key Memorandums of Understanding, marking important milestones in regional trade and economic integration.
