Govt to train 200 youth in AI and digital skills
PMYP launches training programme to equip young Pakistanis with advanced tech expertise

A new Specialized Digital Skills Training of Trainers Programme under the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme is set to give young Pakistanis a cutting-edge boost in the world of technology.
Speaking at the inauguration held at the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) headquarters, PMYP Chairman Rana Mashhood revealed that 200 trainers will receive online instruction in modern fields such as artificial intelligence, e-commerce, digital marketing, and data analytics in the programme’s first phase.
“This programme is a major step toward equipping our youth with globally competitive digital skills, in line with the Prime Minister’s Digital Pakistan Vision,” Mashhood said, highlighting the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
The initiative is being launched in partnership with NAVTTC, Uni Services International, and ITMC China, marking a significant milestone in Pakistan-China cooperation on digital skills and human resource development. Upon completing the training, participants will receive joint certification from leading institutions in both countries.
In an effort to expand access to digital learning, Mashhood also announced that the ‘Practice of Skills’ platform will provide free digital learning accounts to Pakistani youth and freelancers, promoting digital literacy nationwide.
He added that the programme, developed under a public-private partnership model, will modernize Pakistan’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training system, aligning it with international standards and preparing the next generation of tech-savvy professionals.
“Through this programme, we are not just training individuals; we are investing in the future of Pakistan’s youth, giving them the tools to thrive in a digital world,” Mashhood concluded.
