PO held after encounter

Police claimed to have arrested a proclaimed offender after a shootout near Samundri Phatak.

A police team headed by SHO Malik Nadeem Haider were on patrol when they spotted suspects. Seeing the police, the suspects opened fire, prompting the police to retaliate.

Following the gunfire, City SHO Malik Shakeel Ahmed and Kot Addu SDPO Abdul Ghaffar Khan also reached the spot with additional police force and cordoned off the area.

One of the suspects, identified as Sikandar Abbas aka Samundar Khan, was found injured allegedly by the firing of his accomplices, while his accomplices fled in darkness.

The police shifted the injured man to the Kot Addu Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The arrested accused was wanted by the police in 11 cases of crimes.
