In view of the Test Matches between Pakistan and South Africa scheduled to take place starting October 20, Islamabad Traffic Policy has issued a travel advisory, along with details of alternative traffic routes.

During the matches, cricket teams will be travelling between Islamabad and the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with 310 traffic officers deployed across key routes to manage the flow of traffic and ensure minimal disruption for commuters.

To facilitate citizens, the capital's traffic police has suggested an alternative traffic route:

  • Commuters travelling from Margalla Road towards Khanna should use Faisal Avenue via Blue Area, Club Road and Lehtrar Road.
  • For those heading towards Sectors G-9, G-10, G-11 and Tarnol, use Faisal Avenue via F-10 Road.
  • Travellers coming from Rawalpindi Saddar to Islamabad are advised to use Srinagar Highway via Peshawar Morr.
  • Motorists using IJP Road to enter Islamabad should take Sabzi Mandi Road instead.

Islamabad Traffic Police officers will be present on service roads to guide commuters and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.

Traffic congestion may occur on the Expressway and Srinagar Highway during morning office and school hours, as well as during the evening rush.

Citizens have been requested to allow extra travel time during peak hours and remain patient. Islamabad Traffic Police has assured that they will make every possible effort to minimise inconvenience to the public.

Traffic updates will be provided through the Islamabad Police’s social media pages and FM Radio 92.4. For any emergencies, contact Pukar-15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915.
