Residents of Karachi are experiencing sharp weather contrasts as the city alternates between cool mornings and intense afternoon heat.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), mornings and evenings have turned noticeably cooler, while hot and dry winds dominate the daytime, driving temperatures upward.

Meteorologists said the minimum temperature in parts of the city dropped to around 22°C, a decrease of one to two degrees from recent days.

However, daytime temperatures are expected to rise sharply, reaching up to 36°C in the coming days.

The PMD also warned of gusty, dust-laden winds affecting Karachi and its surrounding areas intermittently.

Citizens have been advised to stay hydrated during the day and dress warmly in the early hours to cope with the city’s fluctuating weather.

The Met Office expects the pattern of cool mornings and hot afternoons to persist for several days until sea breezes strengthen, helping to stabilise Karachi’s climate.
