RAWALPINDI:

The Rawalpindi City Traffic Police has issued a traffic management plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement during the Pakistan–South Africa cricket matches being played at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.

According to officials, more than 367 officers and personnel have been deployed for traffic management during the matches.

Acting on the instructions of Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam, Chief Security Officer Muhammad Waseem announced the plan aimed at facilitating citizens, managing parking, and keeping traffic flowing on alternate routes.

During the arrival and departure of cricket teams, traffic will be temporarily diverted to alternate routes for the shortest possible duration.

Additional personnel have been deployed along diversion routes to ensure smooth movement.

Three designated parking areas have been set up for spectators, including Civil Aviation Ground Shahin Chowk, Shahbaz Sharif Park near Shahin Chowk, and Graduate Degree College Satellite Town.

A shuttle service will operate between parking sites and the stadium for spectators' convenience.

Murree Road will be temporarily closed from Faizabad to Double Road during team movements.

Traffic coming from Islamabad will be diverted from Faizabad to the Expressway, while vehicles from Rawalpindi heading to Islamabad can use 6th Road and Saidpur Road.

Traffic from Ghousia Chowk will be diverted through Farooq-e-Azam Road and Kuri Road.

During matches, Stadium Road from 9th Avenue Chowk to Double Road will remain closed in both directions.
