Evening courts launched in Abbottabad

The Peshawar High Court has launched Evening Courts (Double Shift Courts) in Abbottabad for the first time in Pakistan's judicial history.
The initiative aims at expediting the resolution of family disputes and cases involving women and minors, ensuring timely access to justice for all.
Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, Justice S M Atiq Shah, formally inaugurated the Double Shift Court and addressed the ceremony, calling it "a bold step toward a modern, effective, and practical justice system." He emphasised that the initiative fulfils the constitutional promise of providing quick and affordable justice, especially to vulnerable groups.
Justice Shah further highlighted ongoing judicial reforms, including e-filing, digital case management, the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) system and the establishment of a Judicial Academy.
