The Balochistan Provincial Cabinet, in its 19th session held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, strongly condemned recent Afghan aggression along the border and expressed full confidence in the army's timely and professional response. The cabinet also paid rich tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in defense of the homeland.
The meeting, held at the Chief Minister's Secretariat, approved a comprehensive set of policy and legislative measures covering governance, security, social welfare, and economic development. Addressing the session, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that successive Afghan governments had maintained a hostile attitude toward Pakistan despite its decades-long hospitality to Afghan refugees. "In return for our generosity, we have received enmity instead of gratitude," he remarked, reaffirming the provincial government's full support for the federal decision on the repatriation of Afghan refugees.
The cabinet approved several key administrative and legal reforms aimed at strengthening public safety and governance. Amendments to Section 144 were endorsed, allowing Deputy Commissioners to impose prohibitory orders for 30 days, Commissioners for 60 days, and the Additional Chief Secretary for Home Affairs for up to 90 days.
