QUETTA:

Following the recent unprovoked attack by Afghan Taliban on Pakistani border posts, local authorities in Chaman have declared an emergency in all government hospitals and established temporary shelters for residents.

According to an official notification issued by the District Education Officer, Government High School Purana Chaman and Government High School Millatabad have been designated as temporary shelters for citizens seeking safety amid the tense situation.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm but remain prepared to relocate to these designated shelters if necessary. The step was taken as a precautionary measure after the Taliban's cross-border assault created panic in the city.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Chaman Habib Bangulzai has cancelled all leaves of government employees and directed them to remain on duty for the next 24 hours. He warned that no negligence would be tolerated during this critical situation. Panic has spread among residents living close to the Pak-Afghan border, as security forces continue to maintain heightened alert.

Although Pakistani security forces effectively retaliated and repulsed the attack, the situation along the border remains tense. Law enforcement agencies and local administration are actively coordinating efforts to ensure the protection of civilians and maintain peace in the affected areas.
