The BTS-inspired fantasy webnovel 7FATES: CHAKHO is set to make its official English print debut through Ize Press. The deluxe hardcover edition, priced at USD 35, will feature the complete story along with exclusive photographs of the BTS members.
Originally released digitally in January 2022, the webnovel quickly became a global hit, amassing over 5.1 million reads on Wattpad in English and Spanish, alongside 1.6 million additional views on Webtoon among Indonesian and Thai audiences. The story has since been translated into ten languages, reflecting its wide international appeal.
7FATES: CHAKHO follows seven young men — Zeha (Jungkook), Haru (Jimin), Dogeon (RM), Hwan (Jin), Hosu (j-hope), Jooan (V), and Cein (SUGA) — who unite to form a hunting group known as the Chakho. Together, they battle dangerous creatures called the Beom in the decaying city of Sin-si. Inspired by Korean folklore and the legendary tiger hunters of the Joseon Dynasty, the narrative weaves themes of destiny, brotherhood, and resilience in a world overwhelmed by chaos.
An anime short film adaptation, written and directed by Shin Wakabayashi and produced by CloverWorks, was also released earlier this year. The 11-minute feature expands on the universe of the original story, offering fans a deeper look into its mythological world.
The novel complements the 7FATES: CHAKHO comic series, which is also available in print via Ize Press. The release marks a major step in bringing HYBE’s storytelling projects to a broader international audience, uniting BTS fans and readers through an imaginative retelling of Korean-inspired fantasy.
