During the Mariners’ 8–4 win over the Tigers in Game 3 of the ALDS at Comerica Park, a moment in the stands drew attention across social media.
Jameson Turner, a Mariners fan from Longview, Washington now living in Las Vegas, was wearing a teal shirt reading “DUMP HERE, No. 61,” a reference to catcher Cal Raleigh’s nickname, “Big Dumper,” and his home run total entering the game.
“Big Dumper” has become one of baseball’s better-known nicknames, and “Dump Here” shirts have become a popular fan slogan among Mariners supporters.
The number printed on each shirt corresponds to Raleigh’s home run count, which reached 61 during the regular season.
In the top of the ninth, Raleigh hit a 391-foot home run to left-center off a 1-1 sinker from Brenan Hanifee. The ball bounced into the bullpen and was caught by Turner, who was seated directly behind it.
Immediately after catching the ball, Turner changed into another shirt he had brought, this one reading “DUMP HERE, No. 62,” marking Raleigh’s latest home run.

The moment drew reactions from nearby fans and quickly spread online after the game.
Mariners communications staff later located Turner near his seat and brought him to the lower levels of Comerica Park, where he met Raleigh and received a signed bat.
