D4vd reportedly hires Harvey Weinstein’s former lawyer amid Celeste Rivas case
American singer and songwriter D4vd has hired high-profile attorney Blair Berk, who previously represented Harvey Weinstein, as the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas continues.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, has not been named a suspect in the case despite misleading reports circulating online.
Rivas’s body was discovered on September 8, 2025 in a decomposed state inside a Tesla registered to the singer.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has yet to determine the cause or manner of death, and police say there is no evidence at this stage to suggest foul play. Captain Scot Williams of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division stated, “We know for sure Celeste Rivas died, and someone placed her body in the front trunk area of D4vd’s Tesla.”
Blair Berk, one of Los Angeles’s most sought-after defence lawyers, has represented several well-known figures including Kanye West, Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Reese Witherspoon. She is known for handling complex criminal and high-profile media cases.
The singer’s manager, Josh Marshall, recently spoke about the case, saying, “This has been a tough time for my family, as I am a father of three children. I had zero knowledge of anything, and I don't live in California.”
Authorities continue to investigate how Rivas’s body ended up in the vehicle, which had been parked and ticketed days before discovery. While online speculation remains intense, the LAPD reiterated that no suspect or person of interest is being pursued at this time.
