Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s marriage had reportedly been unraveling long before the Oscar winner filed for divorce earlier this week, with sources saying the country star was unsupportive of his wife’s 2024 film Babygirl.

Kidman, 58, played a powerful CEO entangled in an affair with her younger intern, portrayed by Harris Dickinson.

The provocative drama premiered at the Venice Film Festival before heading to Toronto, but Urban, 57, skipped both high-profile events.

“Keith didn’t like the film and he didn’t even like Nicole promoting the movie,” one insider told Page Six. Another added that he feared being mocked because of its explicit storyline, which also starred Antonio Banderas.

Tensions surfaced publicly in July 2024, when Urban abruptly ended a radio interview after being asked about Kidman’s onscreen chemistry with younger actors.

Days before Kidman’s divorce filing, he performed in Hershey, Pennsylvania, without his wedding ring.

The couple share two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14. Kidman, meanwhile, continues to champion female-led projects, recently working with directors including Halina Reijna, Mimi Cave, Lulu Wang, and Susanne Bier.

Urban has not commented on rumors linking him to his 25-year-old guitarist Maggie Baugh.
