Blake Lively showed her support for longtime friend Taylor Swift following the release of the singer’s new album The Life of a Showgirl, appearing to put aside recent speculation that their friendship had cooled.

The 38-year-old actress, who has faced public scrutiny amid her legal dispute with It Ends With Us director and co-star Justin Baldoni, was among those who reacted to Swift’s October 3 Instagram post celebrating the album’s debut.

Lively tapped the like button along with other friends including Brittany Mahomes and Kylie Kelce.

Fans also connected the moment to Swift’s new track Cancelled!, theorizing that it may reference her bond with Lively.

The 10th track includes lyrics about keeping friends close even during scandals, with lines suggesting loyalty through judgment and controversy.

Swift has not confirmed who inspired the song, but the speculation quickly spread online, with many listeners pointing out details they linked to Lively’s career and personal brand.

Swift explained during an Amazon Music introduction to the track that the broader message of Cancelled! reflects her own experience with public criticism. She said her perspective has shifted after years of being at the center of scandals, and she no longer distances herself from friends who face controversy.

“I don’t naturally cast people aside just because other people decide they don’t like them,” Swift said, adding that she makes her own decisions based on personal interactions and loyalty.
