KARACHI:

The teaser of the telefilm 'Be-Gunah', directed by Shamoon Abbasi, has been released, shedding light on India's false-flag operation in Pahalgam earlier this year.

Centred on exposing India's fabricated narratives, the story of 'Be-Gunah' portrays how the Indian government sacrificed its own tourists for political advantage and then shifted the blame onto Pakistan to justify aggression.

The film also highlights Pakistan's forceful response, including the downing of Indian Rafale fighter jets.

The filmmakers have long argued that drama and cinema serve as powerful mediums to counter false propaganda and to project their own national narrative. With 'Be-Gunah', the local industry aims to expose the "deceit and staged theatrics" of New Delhi.

"Pakistan's drama industry is in no way behind any other global showbiz industry, and 'Be-Gunah' is proof of that," the makers said at the teaser launch. The cast features Shamoon Abbasi himself, along with Nazish Jahangir, Kamran Jillani, Hassan Niazi, Hammad Farooqi, and Saleem Sheikh. The story has been penned by Ali Moeen and Irfan Chandio.

On social media, the teaser has been receiving overwhelming response. One viewer commented: "At last, Pakistan has started responding to India in its own language." Another said: "This drama will show India's true face." Even an Indian Muslim fan remarked: "I will definitely watch this!"

The production comes against the backdrop of the April 2025 attack in Pahalgam, a tourist destination in Indian Illegally occupied Jammu Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people. Without presenting evidence, India immediately accused Pakistan of involvement.

'Be-Gunah' positions itself as a cultural counter-narrative, offering what its creators describe as "eye-opening truths" about India's political machinations and Pakistan's response. The telefilm seeks to combine political commentary with patriotic storytelling, underlining the role of the entertainment industry in shaping public perception.

With its mix of political drama, action sequences, and a strong patriotic theme, the telefilm has already stirred debate and generated anticipation ahead of its release.
