The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed deep concern over the extraordinary delay in the enforcement of the National Commission for Minority Rights Bill and urged the government to implement it without further delay to ensure the protection of minorities' fundamental rights.
In an open letter addressed to President Asif Ali Zardari and Federal Law Minister Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, HRCP Chairperson Asad Iqbal Butt noted that the bill was passed by parliament on May 12, 2025, and forwarded for presidential assent.
