Human rights lawyers Imaan Mazari and Hadi Ali Chattha apprised a district and sessions judge on Wednesday that they will be approaching the Islamabad High Court to challenge his court's proceedings thus far in the controversial tweets case against them.
Irked by Mazari and Chattha's absence yesterday (Tuesday), District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka had issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Mazari and Chattha.

Rejecting their request to be excused from the hearing, the court had directed the police to arrest the two and produce them before the court if they failed to appear.
The police had submitted the charge-sheet but the husband and wife lawyers duo was not indicted as they were not present in court.
As the hearing resumed today, Mazari and Chattha submitted writ petitions informing the court of their intention to challenge proceedings before IHC.
The case against them centres around tweets posted by Imaan on X, which have been termed as controversial and anti-state. Chatta was included in the investigation for retweeting the said posts.
