Zara Larsson has spoken out about online comparisons between herself and Tate McRae after completing her run as a support act on McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour.

The Swedish pop star joined the North American leg of the tour, which wrapped up at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Saturday night.

Sharing her reflections on Instagram, Larsson expressed gratitude for the opportunity while addressing fan narratives surrounding the shows. “I’m speechless at the amount of praise I’ve been getting over these past few weeks from your wonderful fans and online. With that being said, it’s been strange seeing some people putting us against each other when we’re just two pop girls who love and support each other back stage!”

Larsson also praised McRae’s professionalism, talent and the positive energy of her team, from the dancers and band to the crew and drivers.

She said the quality of the people around McRae reflected the high standards the Canadian singer brings to her work. "You set the bar. You set the standard. You are a super star. Just know, I will always have your back! Thank you for this experience!!!”, Larsson concluded, addressing McRae.

Her comments highlighted both the camaraderie between the two artists and the pressures female performers often face from public comparisons.
