A Tesla key card was discovered in a gutter near the Hollywood Hills home of musician D4vd, intensifying scrutiny of the investigation into the death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas.
The card was found on September 26 by a Reddit user who identified as a neighbour. The individual admitted to picking up the card with bare hands before realising its possible evidentiary value and later contacted police.
Photos shared online showed the card’s location and the property itself, drawing criticism from other users.

Many expressed concern that handling the card without gloves may have compromised potential fingerprint evidence. The neighbour later confirmed surrendering the card to authorities and said police had reassured them their actions would not obstruct the investigation.
The LAPD has not issued a formal statement regarding the recovery or significance of the Tesla key card. Its discovery comes weeks after Rivas’s decomposed remains were found inside D4vd’s abandoned Tesla on September 8, following reports of a foul odour from neighbours.
Investigators have since searched D4vd’s home and seized digital devices while examining his connection to Rivas, including matching tattoos the pair reportedly shared.
While Tesla key cards are commonly supplied with vehicles, enthusiasts note most owners rely on the smartphone app for access, leaving cards mainly for lending vehicles or avoiding tracking.
Questions remain about how the card came to be outside the property and why it was not recovered during earlier searches. The case continues with no arrests made.
Meanwhile, D4vd has cooperated with police and suspended his tour commitments as the investigation develops.
