The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought replies from the federal and Punjab governments on a petition challenging the use of TikTok and other social media platforms by bureaucrats and police officials for personal publicity.
Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad issued notices to the respondents and directed them to file para-wise replies within 15 days.
The petition, filed by Barrister Waqas, contended that government officers were misusing public resources to build their personal image on social media platforms. It stated that several officers' accounts contained publicity material prepared and disseminated at the expense of the exchequer.
