The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) is expected to convene a meeting to review complaints filed against judges of the superior judiciary, sources have said.
The meeting is likely to be held in mid-October under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi. Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar has been inducted as a member of the SJC.
The SJC is a judicial body of the superior judiciary, empowered under the Article 209 of the Constitution, to hear cases of misconduct against judges.
In a recent observation, the apex court held that only the SJC can investigate allegations of misconduct against judges.
