John Oliver has harshly criticized Disney CEO Bob Iger following the indefinite suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! from ABC.

On Last Week Tonight, Oliver said, “History is also going to remember the cowards who definitely knew better but still let things happen, whether it was for money, convenience or just comfort.”

Kimmel’s suspension came after his remarks about the political fallout surrounding Tyler Robinson, the suspected gunman in the shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump praised the removal as “Great News for America.”

Oliver accused broadcasters Nexstar and Sinclair of bowing to pressure from Trump-appointed FCC Chair Brendan Carr, calling it a “clear case of the government pressuring companies to censor speech.”

Turning to Iger, Oliver joked about being recast in The Lion King prequel, then added, “At some point you’re going to have to draw a line… why not stand up and use four key words… ‘F*** you, make me.’”

He also warned that other late-night hosts, including Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, could be at risk, while Carr suggested investigating The View.

Kimmel’s comments criticized the MAGA response to the Tyler Robinson case and mocked Trump’s focus on White House renovations amid the tragedy.

The Independent has contacted Iger’s representatives for comment.
