Oscar-nominated actress Saoirse Ronan and her husband, actor Jack Lowden, have welcomed their first child together. The couple, who married last year, were photographed this week in London as they took their newborn out for a walk in a pram. They appeared in good spirits, sharing a hug and checking in on their baby during the outing, according to photos published by The Irish Sun.
The sighting comes just months after the couple confirmed they were expecting. In May, a source told The Irish Sun that Ronan, 31, and Lowden, 34, were "very excited" to become parents. The pair tied the knot in a private ceremony in Edinburgh last summer, with only a small group of close friends in attendance. They now share a €2.8 million home in London with their terrier dog, Fran.
Ronan, who found international fame at a young age, has previously spoken about her hopes of becoming a parent. She told The Irish Sun last year that although her career had dominated much of her twenties, she had "always wanted" to have children and felt fortunate to be able to step back without giving up her work entirely.
The couple first met in 2018 on the set of Mary Queen of Scots, where Ronan portrayed Mary Stuart and Lowden played her husband, Lord Darnley. They later collaborated on a 2024 adaptation of The Outrun, with Ronan in the lead role and both credited as producers.
Lowden has often praised Ronan as "a force of nature" on and off screen, while she has described him as a calm and steady collaborator. Their new arrival marks another milestone in a relationship that blends personal happiness with professional partnership.
