Released in 2002 by Roc-A-Fella Films and Dimension Films, Paid in Full starred Wood Harris, Mekhi Phifer, and Cam’ron. The movie dramatized the real-life rise of Harlem figures Azie Faison, Rich Porter, and Alberto “Alpo” Martinez. While not a box office hit, the film grew into a cultural staple within Hip-Hop, often referenced in lyrics and remembered for its exploration of loyalty, greed, and betrayal. For Dash, the film was considered one of his biggest achievements outside music.

50 Cent confirmed the development in an Instagram post, writing that he had secured the rights and was reimagining the film as a premium TV show. “If you like Godfather of Harlem you’re gonna love this,” he wrote, adding that original star Cam’ron would serve as an executive producer alongside him.

The project aligns with 50 Cent’s track record of producing hit crime dramas such as Power and BMF. His formula of blending gritty street narratives with mainstream television has proven successful, suggesting the new series could appeal to audiences beyond Harlem.

Cam’ron’s involvement also marks a significant shift, as he was once closely tied to Dash through Roc-A-Fella Records before their relationship soured. The collaboration between 50 Cent and Cam’ron is being interpreted by some observers as a symbolic closing of Dash’s role in the franchise.

The timeline for production on the Paid in Full series has not yet been announced.
