House Democrats have released a controversial note allegedly signed by President Donald Trump to financier Jeffrey Epstein, reigniting scrutiny over their past association.
The note, which appeared in Epstein’s 2003 “birthday book,” was among documents subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee from Epstein’s estate.

The message reads: “Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.” Committee Democrats posted the image on X after receiving it in a batch of subpoenaed files. The release follows reporting by the Wall Street Journal in July that first highlighted the alleged note.
The White House strongly denied Trump’s involvement, stating the handwriting and drawing do not match his signature style. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.” White House deputy chief of staff Taylor Budowich also posted examples of Trump’s signature online, calling the letter “fake news.”
The latest piece published by the Wall Street Journal PROVES this entire “Birthday Card” story is false.
As I have said all along, it’s very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it.

Trump has repeatedly dismissed the allegations, calling the note “a fake thing” and filing a defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal, its reporters, and News Corp executives, including Rupert Murdoch. Publisher Dow Jones has defended its reporting as accurate and thorough.
The subpoenaed files are part of the Oversight Committee’s broader investigation into Epstein’s networks and potential political connections. Among the requested items were Epstein’s birthday book, flight logs, and other estate documents. Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.
The release of the alleged Trump note has deepened political tensions in Washington, with Democrats emphasizing transparency and Republicans accusing them of pushing a partisan hoax.
