The police and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) killed two terrorists and seized arms and ammunition during an operation in Lakki Marwat on Monday.
The operation was carried out on the directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa IGP Zulfiqar Hameed, while District Police Officer Lakki Marwat Nazeer Khan personally supervised the effort. DSP Circle Lakki Zafarullah Khan, DSP CTD Israr Khan, SHO Dadiwala, as well as personnel from Elite Force, RRF, DSB, and other units participated in the joint operation.
Acting on intelligence reports, security forces moved into the forests of Mash Masti Khani village, where armed terrorists were planning an attack. As the operation team reached, terrorists opened fire, prompting a strong retaliation.
The exchange of fire lasted for about half an hour, resulting in the killing of two terrorists. Their identities are being verified, while a large-scale search operation is underway to track down their accomplices.
IGP Hameed and RPO Sajjad Khan commended the police and CTD personnel for the successful operation, vowing that the campaign against terrorists would continue until the last terrorist is eliminated.
They praised the bravery and courage of the forces, stating that police remain ever ready to defend the nation and will not allow terrorists to succeed in their nefarious designs.
