Atlanta rapper Young Thug has fueled speculation about a split from singer Mariah The Scientist after a series of leaked jail calls revealed personal details about his relationships.
Recordings of Young Thug’s phone conversations from jail have circulated online in recent days. The calls included references to fellow artists such as Gunna, YSL, Future, Drake, and GloRilla, but the most controversial moments involved his private exchanges with women. In one call, he allegedly downplayed a photo of another woman in his condo, insisting it was old—though reports state the image was taken just before his May 9, 2022 arrest. In another conversation, he professed love to an unidentified woman and discussed future children.
Before speculation intensified, Young Thug issued a public apology to Mariah on social media. He acknowledged wrongdoing and asked supporters to refrain from targeting her online, writing: “You deserved better from me… Please give her peace.”

hugThe controversy escalated further on September 7, when Young Thug posted a cryptic message on X (formerly Twitter) that read, “Chapter ended ❤.” Many fans interpreted the statement as confirmation of a breakup with Mariah.
Mariah appeared to respond indirectly through an Instagram Story featuring lyrics from her new album Hearts Sold Separately. The lines, taken from the track Rainy Days, reflected themes of betrayal and emotional hurt: “I was naive, not ignorant. So much for my innocence now. Love me, leave me, let me down…”
Reactions across social platforms have ranged from sympathy for Mariah to speculation about the couple’s future. While neither Young Thug nor Mariah The Scientist has confirmed an official separation, their relationship status remains uncertain amid the ongoing fallout.
