SC forms cell for overseas litigants

ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has established an Overseas Litigants Facilitation Cell (OLFC) in a significant step aimed at assisting Pakistanis living abroad in pursuing their legal matters before the country's top court.

According to an official statement, overseas Pakistanis will now be able to approach the facilitation cell through a dedicated WhatsApp number (+92-326-4442444) and the court's online complaints portal.

The court clarified that only cases falling under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court will be registered with the facilitation cell. Every individual residing abroad will be considered an overseas litigant under this initiative.

The SC already since years has a Cell for Overseas Pakistanis and a special online Form is attached to it. During the last 4-5 years just to a get a small information that in case this too old 80 years approaches with public interest issue would he be required to travel to Pakistan personally or not. Not just on cell s email but through post mail so many times I approached but in all these four five years never got any response.
