The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Workers Welfare Board has taken stern action over students' poor performance in matriculation examinations, suspending principals of 15 Working Folks Grammar and Higher Secondary Schools across the province. An official notification has been issued in this regard.
According to the notification, the suspended principals belong to Working Folks Grammar Schools in Akora Khattak, Aman Garh, Ghori Wala, Haripur-II, Hattar, Karak, Kohat-I, Kohat-II, Peshawar-II, Mardan, Shehbaz Azmat Khel, Swabi, and Swat. Additionally, the principals of Working Folks Grammar School Takhat Bai and the Working Folks Grammar Higher Secondary School have also been removed from their posts due to unsatisfactory performance.
The notification states that the responsibilities of the suspended principals have been handed over to vice principals and senior teachers of the respective schools to ensure that academic activities continue without disruption.
Officials said the decision was aimed at improving educational standards and ensuring better student performance in future examinations.
The Board has also warned that stricter measures will follow if results do not improve in the coming academic sessions.
It may be recalled that last week, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has taken major action following unsatisfactory results in the 2025 intermediate examinations of Government Postgraduate College (GPGC) Kohat and several other public colleges. An inquiry committee has been constituted to investigate the matter.
According to an official notification, the committee will consist of two senior officers: Syed Ishtiaq Hussain, Additional Director at the Directorate of Higher Education, and Muhammad Azhar Zahoor, Deputy Secretary (Colleges) in the Higher Education Department.
