
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa has witnessed a sharp rise in terrorist incidents, with 605 cases reported during the first eight months of this year, leaving 138 civilians dead and 352 injured.
According to figures from the Central Police Office (CPO), 351 suspected terrorists were named in terrorism-related cases during this period. Security operations led to the killing of 32 terrorists and the arrest of five others.
The data further reveals that the province's police force has borne a heavy toll, with 79 personnel martyred and 130 injured in various attacks.
In August alone, 129 terrorist incidents were reported across the province. These attacks claimed the lives of 17 civilians and left 51 wounded. During the same month, 186 suspects were identified, while eight terrorists were killed in encounters. District-wise breakdown shows Bannu recorded the highest number of attacks in August with 42 incidents.
