KARACHI:

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has completed its audit of six airports in Pakistan. The audit was carried out under GACA's plan to allow Pakistani airlines to operate direct flights to Saudi Arabia, said official sources.

Although seven airports were included in the plan, the audit of Sialkot Airport could not be conducted due to the prevailing flood situation.

The Saudi teams inspected the airport security environment, the ASF security procedures and protocols and airline flight procedures, including cargo operations. They also reviewed the regulated agent security procedures and certified flight kitchen procedures and environment

Two GACA teams visited Pakistan in phases. The first team conducted audits of Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad airports from August 25 to 30.
