Jennifer Aniston has revealed why she has never attended the Met Gala, despite being invited to fashion’s most high-profile evening.

Speaking to Glamour magazine for its September issue, the Friends star said the event feels overwhelming compared to other red-carpet commitments.

Aniston explained that while she frequently attends the Golden Globes or the Emmy Awards, the pressure of preparing for the Met Gala has kept her away. “It’s the getting ready, the putting on the dress. I’m a ‘jeans and flip-flops and tank top’ kind of girl,” she said.

She added that although she enjoys dressing up, the process of preparing for the Met Gala feels like too much of a “mental game.”

She shared how years of media scrutiny have made her feel self-conscious. “I even get a little anxious about public speaking, especially over the years of having your words twisted and taken out of context,” she explained.”
