KARACHI:

The body of a teenage boy was found in a drain in Sultanabad on Monday after the boy's father had registered a missing person report at Docks police station, on August 29, regarding his son's disappearance.

Police and Edhi Marine Services rushed to Moulvi Tameezuddin Khan Road in Sultanabad and retrieved the body which was later shifted to the Civil Hospital, where the deceased was identified as 13-year-old Abu Bakar, son of Dildar Hussain. In the missing person report, the boy's father stated that his son went missing while playing near Roshan Academy School at around 7pm. He also mentioned that his son was wearing a red shirt and sky-blue trousers.

Enraged locals argued that no citizen is safe, claiming that if someone escapes robbers, they get crushed by dumpers and trucks; if they are lucky enough to survive, they end up electrocuted by exposed wires or fall into open drains and die.

Further, locals criticised Sindh's leaders, arguing that they roam around in luxury convoys and are busy praising themselves while ignoring public welfare.
